Informal Bidding in Your Area

There are over 1,100 public agencies that participate in the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting, a state act that allows agencies to informally bid projects.

Informal bidding does not require formal advertising. Instead, the agency may elect to maintain a list of qualified contractors to whom the agency may solicit bids from.

The project values will range, but not to exceed $175,000. The agency must advertise for the inclusion of contractors on their lists, to be updated annually.

I encourage you to review the list of participating agencies and contact the agencies within your coverage area and request to be included on their “informal bidders list”. You will be notified by the agency of informal projects.

You can view the complete list by clicking here.
